WE RECENTLY LOST CECILIA'S BROTHER JOHN MANNING IN SEPTEMBER OF 2023 THEN WE LOST HER MOTHER MARGARET MANNING ALSO IN DECEMBER OF THE SAME YEAR. IT HAS BEEN A TOUGH TIME FOR OUR FAMILY. THE CANNON FUNERAL HOME AND JOHN CANNON HAS MADE THE FUNERAL PROCESS MUCH EASIER THAN WE COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED. JOHN AND HIS STAFF TREATED US JUST LIKE WE WERE PART OF THEIR OWN FAMILY. A very belated testimonial for John Cannon and Cannon Funeral Home. When my father passed in early 2022, it was the first time that I had to plan a service for anyone, so had to learn everything from A to Z in 24 hours while working through grief. We went to see Cannon first. John was in the middle of a service, but kindly spent a few minutes, gave us some info and asked if we would be able come back later in the day when he could spend more time. We then went down the road to see "the other place." They brusquely asked through the window if we had an appointment, then grudgingly sent someone out to talk to us, and again told us we shouldn't bother to go anywhere without an appointment. Our decision was made at that point.

John and his team were all so kind and professional as they guided us through the process. His facility is beautiful, clean and welcoming and his prices were reasonable. I can't think of anything that went amiss. His staff even stayed at the cemetery until the casket was lowered into the ground, which I thought was a beautiful touch.

I will always recommend Cannon above the place down the road and hope that John stays around long enough to take care of my mom.

John Cannon led my family through the most difficult period of our lives. We lost our oldest son Nicolas Syron May 2nd and John Cannon was my first phone call. As you can imagine, the pain of losing a child is overwhelming. The worry of bringing Nick home from an out of hospital was handled with care and warmth. Nick’s wife Jessica, and both sets of parents are overwhelmed with grief, and we just needed someone to take care of our son. We cannot thank John and Glenn enough.

John and his team were incredibly kind, caring, supportive, and thorough when making the arrangements and planning the services for my husband. When meeting with John he took his time to explain all the steps, details, options with the family and I. He even provided a checklist, which I found to be very helpful to keep track of the details when those days seemed like a blur. He was also very responsive to any questions that I had along the way and was very accommodating throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend John and his amazing team at the Cannon Funeral Home.

I selected Cannon Funeral Home to help me with my wife's arrangements based on recommendation's from others. This was an emotionally difficult time, but everyone I encountered at Cannon was compassionate, helpful and supportive. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I had contacted John when my sister Stefanie passed away. It was a call on a Sunday morning when I called. I have worked with him on other persons passing and it becomes different when it is one of yours. He handled said he would take care of it and he would contact me when we were ready to meet. It all went very well and we as a family was very pleased. I would recommend him and his crew to anyone who needs his services.

I have worked with John and his staff before and as always am so pleased with the high level of care and compassion he brings ...making each family feel like they are the only ones that matter even if he has many others to deal with that week - you feel like you're all that matters! This April as we had to say goodbye to my beautiful cousin who at the tender age of 54 was a heartbreaking loss I can say as her planner from the very 1st phone call until the final goodbye John, Glenn, and the staff met all her needs and made every effort to make this process as user friendly as possible. Having used the online pre planning was wonderful and when the time came our week together was made so much easier knowing how much care and thought they put into every detail!

When you're at the worst, lowest, most vulnerable time in your life it's nice to feel "they've got you" and it will be ok. The compassion and caring and great prices they offer as well as AWESOME service make it the only place to go!!! With a big family I have been at many providers in our area before and I have to say since I've tried the rest I'm proud and thankful to say now I HAVE HAD THE BEST!!! John Cannon and his team did an exceptional job for my family. From the pre planning right thru to the burial, they were knowledgeable, compassionate, professional and very reliable. Thank you!

In today’s times, it’s hard to order a cup of coffee without someone asking you to fill out a survey or write them a testimonial.
However, this is one I am more than happy to write. With my father Lenny Taylor’s passing, the family was grief-stricken and at a loss as to who should do what or when. Upon arriving at the wrong(!) funeral home the next morning, we were surprised to learn we didn’t have an appointment there at all.
Once we realized our wires got crossed and we had my father sent to the wrong funeral home, we called Cannon Funeral Home and Glen was able to get us in for a consultation within 30 minutes of our call. Glen Ward was not only kind and caring, but he gave us all the direction we were looking for.
The service was in three parts over a six-day period with the viewing first, then a Catholic Mass at the church, followed by a Military Honors Service at Saratoga National Cemetery. Each step of the way Glen was guiding and directing us as to what we should expect and what we needed to do. Everything exceeded our expectations. They are professional, accommodating and caring in the right proportions. My family and I thank Glen and his staff at Cannon and would recommend them to anyone with a glowing 5-star review.

John and Glenn did an amazing job with my father in law's funeral last year. Sadly, we had to call on them again this week for my sister. They are so compassionate, make everything easier on the family and go out of their way with top notch personal help and service. We consider them family friends. I appreciated his advise not to make rush decision but to think about what I wanted for my husband's service and burial. While we were only having a direct cremation as our family lives on Long Island, but Mom passed in Albany, words cannot explain what a wonderful person you are. You made this difficult process easy to understand. You gave us your cell phone number to call with any questions and you even called us to see how we were doing. Our only regret is that you are not located on Long Island, as Cannon Funeral Home would have been the perfect setting to say goodbye to Mom. The world needs more John Cannon's in it!

It started months ago when we met for the pre-arrangements. I hope you realize how comforting your words were which made the process so much easier. Just the little things we asked meant so very much. The added touch of driving around the house struck a cord with so many and commented about it. Many said who does that, "I said John"! Would never use any other funeral home after the thoughtful, kind, compassionate service that John and his staff provided for our family. At 2:30 am I made 2 phone calls from the hospital after my mom passed away. The first call was all business, no compassion and about the payment right up front. What a strange and cold conversation that was and I knew in my gut I couldn't use them and hung up. My second call was to Cannon and when I spoke with John I just knew in his voice this man would take care of us and showed us the compassion you would want for your loved one. I was right, the services from start to finish we're amazing. John took care of every detail and made our experience very special. Thank you John.

This group made a very challenging and difficult time for my family much easier to tolerate, as he gently walked is through every step. His contract is transparent, and his advice is sound. John also managed to help us expedite matters for a rapid funeral and memorial. The facility is touching and beautiful, and I couldn't think of a better way to honor our loved one. If I ever need such funeral services again in the Albany area, I would only use the Cannon funeral home.
