Xiaa Price Jr. Obituary

Xiaa L.G Price Jr. “Fuego” was born on May 20, 1999 in Niskayuna, New York to Lou G. Price Sr. and Janell T. Price. He was one of five children. Xiaa was everything me and his dad prayed for, His dad and my self was extremely excited to find out I was having him, Lou Sr. was very over protected when it came to Xiaa (he loved his boys so much). Xiaa was planned and desired, truly an answer from God.

As a young man Xiaa was raised in the Church at New Jerusalem Home of the saved where he was baptized in Jesus’ name, participated in all youth activities developed lasting relationship with his peers here at church, this was not just church but family, no matter what condition Xiaa was in, this was a place he could always stop by, and be received with so much love and prayer. He was nurtured not only by the church but his mom, family, community.

Xiaa was a strong-willed child; nothing seemed to faze him.  So smart and a skilled writer (his teachers was always impressed by his writing pieces). Xiaa was a sponge he absorbed so much information at such a young age. When he was only 2 years old, and wanted to learn so bad he would watch his sister do her homework and you can see the zeal in his eyes like “I can’t wait to go to school”. And when he got there, he gave everybody a run for their money. He was so smart and active, they didn’t know what exactly to do with him, so sports were the direction I took to exhaust that energy, Xiaa played baseball, basketball, and was on the cross country and swim team. He participated in the Union College after school program, Boys and Girls club. When They say it takes a village to raise a child it does. When developing into a teen challenge Xiaa, I decided to place him in a group home at Northeast, that’s where he gains his extended family (brothers, sisters, second mom’s) they took good care of my son.

Xiaa was such an amazing young man no matter where he went people knew and loved him. And one thing about Xiaa he loved his momma, nana, sister, brother, aunties, cousins and ALL his family and friends. And if Xiaa loved you he took care of you.

Xiaa also loved animals I remember Xiaa pulling reptiles out of the lake in Central park, in Schenectady and bringing them home. I am not talking about your regular small lake fish that could fit in your fish tank, no large snapping turtles that have been in the lake for hundreds of years big enough to snap an arm off.

He had a big heart that challenge me at times, one day the neighborhood kids was out back through rocks at the seagulls ( from time to time there would be so many out there like close to fifty) they hit one of the birds and hurt its wing so the bird could not fly, Xiaa heart was so broken you could see it in his eyes,  I was getting ready for church when the kids witness this, Xiaa tells me what happen, I do what every parent would do” Xiaa we will pray for the bird and the kids lets get in the car and go to church”. My baby looked at me with sorrow in his eyes and said mom we got to take the bird to the hospital. That was Truly a WWJD moment for me because I thought prayer was enough. That boy stopped me in my tracks, I’m like ok get the bird, Xiaa and Lou found a box to put the bird in, we figure out a vet to bring the bird to.  I am praying on our way to the vet, “Lord please don’t let the bird fly out the box in my car”. I am like “Jesus how did I get here”, We brought the bird to the vet, they brought the bird right to the back assured Xiaa and Lou they would take good care of it, I tell you; that made those boys day, yes! we were late to church; which was my life story with the kids; but that really blessed Xiaa’s heart.
