William "Billy" Hyde Obituary

Albany - William T. (Billy) Hyde, 54 passed away on December 27th at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany from Covid-19.

Billy was born in Troy, NY on December 3rd 1966. He was the son of the late Franklyn R. and Margaret A. (Halpin) Hyde.  He lived in Colonie for many years and attended a day program at the Warren, Washington & Albany Counties ARC.

Billy had a smile that would light up a room and used it to his advantage when flirting with all the girls. He loved visits at his family's homes, trips to Dunkin Donuts for his favorite coffee, concerts of his favorite Country music artists, watching sitcoms and old TV shows. He especially loved watching old re-runs of the Lawrence Welk Show, while his sisters would sing along.  He also enjoyed watching the New York Mets play when he was a kid.

Survivors include his brother Michael R. Hyde of Ballston Lake, his sisters Karen A. Casale (John) of Troy, Mary Ellen Phillips of Cocoa, FL and his beloved cousin Catherine F. (Kay) Mangione of Watervliet. Bill is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Katherine Phillips, Rebecca Taylor, Michael Cooney, Christopher Hyde, Jennifer Hyde and David Hyde (Mo). Billy was Great Uncle to Tyler Besanceney and Skyler Cooney. He is also survived by his Uncle, Aunts and many cousins.

Billy had a second family at his home on Jules Drive. Kim Alberti, the entire staff and the "Guys" were his family too. He lived a happy life there and we always knew he was under the best of care.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Peter's Hospital, particulary, ICU nurse Jason who was extremely kind.

Donations may be made in Billy's memory to Catholic Charities Disabilities Services, 1 Park Place, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205. A burial and Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2021. To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.CannonFuneral.com
