Ryan J. Gagliardi

COLONIE - Ryan J. Gagliardi, 21, of Colonie, died suddenly on Tuesday September 27, 2022. He was born in Albany and is the cherished son of Robert J. and Cindy Skelton Gagliardi of Colonie.

Ryan is the maternal grandson of Bonnie Visser Skelton and the late Lawrence A. Skelton Jr. He is the paternal grandson of the late Benito and Evelyn Gagliardi. He is the nephew of Jessica Skelton, Danielle (Tim) Danaher and Michael Gagliardi Sr. Ryan is the cousin of Mike (Beth) Gagliardi Jr., Lisa and Dan O’Neil and Caleb Burns. He is also survived by close siblings that he never had, Danielle Carr, Maddison Rounds, Jonathan Silvernail and Pat Germaine.

Ryan was an accomplished young man that excelled in the effort to be of service to his community. At age 15, he started as a volunteer with the Fuller Road Fire Department, first as an explorer then as a junior member. He was a seven-year member where he was currently serving as a 1st Lieutenant of the Department. “Ryan was a friend to all, an inspiration to all around him especially the younger members, many of whom wanted to be just like him”. “Gags” as he was known, was well liked by all of his coworkers of the Malta-Stillwater Emergency Medical Services where he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician. “Ryan has been a valued member of MSEMS, a well-respected EMT and a darn good friend. We will miss him more than words can express”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ryan’s family on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Funeral services with Full Departmental Honors will be held on Friday at 11:00 at Cannon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Heroes section of Memory Gardens.
