Ronald Goldfarb Obituary

ALBANY – Ronald Goldfarb, 78, of Albany, passed away on Friday May 19, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family after a very brief illness.

He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Leonard and Lillian Goldfarb. Ron served as a medic in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. He was a butcher at the former Wilson Foods in Albany. He then worked for over thirty-five years as a Supervisor with Golub Corp. in Rotterdam. Ron was a horse racing enthusiast. In his younger years he was an avid bowler, and former member of the Knights of Pythias.

Anyone who knew Ron, knows he brought a special light to the world. His contagious smile and laughter will be sorely missed. He was always willing to go the extra mile for you. His memory will live on in the hearts of so many, through the countless memories we will cherish.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Susan Johnson Goldfarb. He is the father of Frederick Bradley, Colleen Bradley and the late Gino Goldfarb. He is the Papa of Lisa (Luke) Naughton, Zachary, Rachel and Jacob Goldfarb and Kaitlyn Bradley. Ron is the great grandfather of Gunnar Naughton. He is the brother of Marvin (Marge), Richard, Garry and Mark (Mary) Goldfarb.  He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ron’s family on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 am at Cannon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
