Michael R. Hyde

April 12, 1961 ~ November 15, 2021 (age 60)


BALLSTON  LAKE – Michael R. Hyde, 60, of Ballston Lake, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Troy on April 12th, 1961, and was the son of the late Franklyn R. and Margaret A. (Halpin) Hyde.

Mike graduated from Troy High School and proudly served in the US Air Force for six years. He was stationed in both England and the state of Washington where he worked as a fireman on base. He worked for many years at Southworth Milton Cat in Clifton Park and retired in 2020.

Mike enjoyed playing poker and LOVED Vegas.  He was a fan of “The Office” as well as survival programs and alien shows.  He was very interested in US History and was a New York Yankees fan.

Mike is survived by his children Christopher J. Hyde, David M. Hyde (Moe) and Jennifer M. Hyde. He is the cherished “Papa” to Tyler Besanceney.   Mike is also survived by his sisters Karen A. Casale (John) and Mary Ellen Phillips and was predeceased by his brother William T. Hyde. He is the dear cousin of Catherine “Kay” Mangione and beloved uncle to Katherine Phillips, Rebecca Taylor, Michael Cooney and  great uncle to Skyler Cooney.  Mike is survived by an uncle, aunts and several cousins. He is the longtime friend of Mark Juliano.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mike’s family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Monday at 1:30 at Saratoga National VA Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Please gather at the cemetery entrance by 1:20 pm.
