Mary "Mitzi" Haller Obituary

COLONIE – Mary “Mitzi” R. Haller, 93, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late George and Rose LaFontaine. Mitzi graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. Haller Sr., in 1986. A lifelong resident of Colonie, Mitzi was a bookkeeper at her husband’s Colonie Garage. She had been an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and Christ Our Light Catholic Church for many years serving as a eucharistic minister and lector. Mitzi was a member of the Columbiettes.

Mitzi is the beloved mother of Joseph J. (Elizabeth) Haller Jr., Judy D’Angelo and Janet Krueger. She is the lifelong friend of Edward Bryda. Mitzi is the sister of George (Rosaleen) LaFontaine. She is the cherished grandmother of Suzanne Currier, Joseph Haller III, Kristen Zepf, Catherine Dyminski, Aimee Sewell, Wesley Krueger, Isaiah Krueger, Shaina Skinner, Jessica Knight and Heidi Beddoes. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family offers their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Delmar Center, especially Sierra and Kathleen for care and kindness during Mitzi’s stay.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive Loudonville. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
