Lois Howland Obituary

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Lois Joan Maloney Howland, cherished wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, passed away September 17, 2021 at the age of 92.

She was born in Dover, New Hampshire and was the daughter of the late Harold V. Maloney and Annette Goulet and Raymond McGlone, who loving raised her. Lois was predeceased by her sister Joyce Thompson and her daughter Gail Howland.

She married Ehrick Howland in Rochester, NH. They lived in Scotia, NY before retiring to Vero Beach, FL. for thirty years. Lois and Ehrick spent their summers in Saratoga to be near their daughters.

Lois was the mother of seven children and took great pride in providing a wonderful and loving home. She was the grandmother of nine grandchildren and played an important role in shaping their lives. Her grandchildren made a point of visiting regularly, speaking with her and often spent their vacation with her. Lois was most happy surrounded by her children and grandchildren, spending many hours laughing, and enjoying their company, playing cards and reminiscing. Lois was much loved in her later years, very well cared for by her husband, children and grandchildren who loved her dearly.

She is the beloved wife of Ehrick D. Howland. Lois is the devoted mother of Ehrick (Sally) Howland, Timothy Howland, Lee (William) Leonard, Judith (Phil) Willoughby, Shelly (Wayne) Akey and Geoffrey Howland. She is also survived by her nine cherished grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
