LOUDONVILLE – Kay E. Hoffman, 83, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Hamilton, NY and was the daughter of the late Mildred and Ervin Scheussler and Donald Noel. Kay was the co-owner of Kay’s Soft Ice Cream for 22 years and did local events throughout the Capital Region. She was a charter member of the International Olympin Pin Club. Kay was an avid collector. She was a well-respected coach and player for many women’s softball leagues, including Colonie Girls Softball, Capital League All Women’s Softball (CLAWS), Troy Women’s Softball and Catskill Women’s Softball. Kay was the coach of the Diamond Girls for many years.
Kay is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, John “Jack” R. Hoffman. She is the mother of Kenneth (Pam) Hoffman and Donna Hoffman. Kay is grandmother of Monica (Randy) LaMountain, Shelbie Ballard, John Hoffman and Kiley Patterson. She is the sister of Kevin Noel, Joy Noel and the late Ronald Scheussler and Tim Noel. She is also survived by her longtime family friends, Judy Ogborn and Peg Coager. Also, thank you to Lisa Letourneau and Sandy Paige for their kindness and friendship. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Kay will be dearly missed by her cat, Yoshi. The family would like to thank Gina Kraft for her kind and compassionate care of Kay.
Funeral services will be Monday at 6:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
