Grace Williams Obituary

GRACE MARION WILLIAMS, of Duanesburg, passed away Sunday June 6, at Ellis Hospital, in Schenectady, after a brief illness. She was 85.

Grace, who was also known by her lifelong nickname “Babe” was born April 10, 1936 in Schenectady, the daughter of Frank J Parisi and Mabel Van Aken Parisi. Grace was a 1955 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, in Schenectady. She married John Roth Williams, of Rotterdam, in 1956. She worked at Central Markets then Bausch and Lomb Corp. in Rochester, after her marriage.

The couple moved to Rotterdam in 1959 and Grace concentrated on home making. The couple had two sons, William Frank in 1960 and John Roth Jr in 1962. Grace devoted her time to her family and household and went back to work in 1974 at Rollarama Skating Center in Rotterdam and after her sons were grown, worked at The Boston Store, in Niskayuna and North American Medical Products, of Rotterdam.

Grace was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Theresa Paige, of Niskayuna. She is survived by her sons William (Catherine), of Rotterdam and John (Mary Ann), of Duanesburg; her Grandchildren Robert, of Malden MA, Bryant, of Lake Ronkonkoma NY, Brandon, of Slingerlands, Kayla and Zoe, of Duanesburg. She is also survived by two brothers, Carmen (Marianne) Parisi, of Rexford and Frank Parisi Jr, of Sarasota FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Grace will be buried at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Kings Road, Schenectady. A small graveside gathering will take place at 1PM on Friday June 11. All are welcome.
