Emily Schubert Obituary

WEST ALBANY – Emily D. Schubert, 83, of West Albany , passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Mariono and Grace Cocchi. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Bill Schubert.  Emily was the first teenaged girl hired at the former Carnevale’s Supermarket in Albany. It was at Carnevale’s where she and Bill first met. She enjoyed nature, feeding the animals and watching the cardinals. Emily loved going to camp in the town of Providence. She worked at Tobin Packing Co. for thirty years. Emily was a wonderful homemaker caring for her husband and her boys.

Emily was sister of the late Helen Albert, John Cocchi and Mary Scaringe. She is the cherished mother of Billy, Bobby (Karen), Johnny (Kathy), Brian and Joey. Emily is the loving grandmother of Amanda (Patrick) Flanagan, Nicole, Christian and Arionna Schubert. She is the great grandmother of Marin and Etta Flanagan. She will be dearly missed by devoted puppy Chloe.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Emily’s family on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive. Loudonville. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
