Denise R. Stewart

COLONIE – Denise Renee Stewart, of Colonie, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Niskayuna and was the daughter of the late Evelyn Sommer Van Alstyne.

Denise was a 1976 graduate of Colonie High School and Bauder Fashion College in Miami. She was a talented artist and designer.   Denise received multiple promotions with health insurers GHI, MVP and MultiPlan Corp. She had a wonderful ability to communicate with anyone and had a personality that was bigger than life. She cared much more about everyone else than herself. Denise operated Fritz and Fratz, a jewelry and antique business named after her cherished grandfather Fritz Sommer. She loved to travel and to help other people.

Denise is survived by her father, Alan Hartman; her devoted son Jesse W.B. Stewart; her stepfather, Bob Van Alstyne; her siblings, Rhonda (Kevin) Allen and Ronald (Ann Marie) Hartman. She is the dear friend of Christine Gazelone, Hal and Debbie Wasserman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Denise’s family on Saturday, May 13th from 12:00 to 2:00 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie.
