Anthony DeMaso Obituary

COLONIE – Anthony  De Maso, 90, passed away on Saturday January 5, 2019 at St Peters Hospital after a brief illness.

Anthony was born in Albany and was the son of the late Gulio and Maria Chaffoni De Maso. He was beloved husband of 50 years to Patricia Stockwell who predeceased him in 2009. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Anthony was employed at NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance retiring in 1990 after 38 years. He was also employed at Albany Medical Center’s Medical admitting office. 

He was an active member of Christ the Light Church serving as a Eucharistic minister for many years. After retiring, he was active member and Past President of the Mended Hearts Albany Chapter for many years.

He was the devoted father of Mary (Wesley) Sullivan and Daniel (Lisa) De Maso, both of Orlando, FL, Kathleen De Maso of Chiang Mai, Thailand and Julie (David) Lo Giudice of Colonie. He was the cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Nicole and Mark Lo Giudice and Isabella, Evangelina and Alexandra De Maso. He is also grandpa to Paul, Ann, Peter, Am, Aom, Luca, Gong and Mark all of Chiang Mai, Thailand.  Anthony is also survived by his cherished sister Ann Cyr (late William) and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his walking group family from which he walked with daily at Colonie Center.       

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Anthony’s family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mended Hearts of Albany, c/o 77 Tamarack Lane, Niskayuna, NY 12309 in memory of Anthony DeMaso.
