Ann McGraw Obituary

Ann Patricia McGraw, 74, of Niskayuna, passed on April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, after a long struggle.

Ann was born July 2, 1949 in Wilkes-Barre, PA the daughter of the late William and Marie (Keenan) Foy. She graduated from Coughlin Highschool, class of 1967 and married her high school sweetheart John. The couple shared a devoted, loving relationship working together and raising their family. Ann paused her education and career to raise their family then returned to complete her Bachelors degree at St. Rose and Masters at SUNY Albany in teaching. She worked as a middle school teacher at Iroquois Middle School in Niskayuna, NY. She loved teaching and the uniqueness of each student that entered her classroom. She believed “children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded.”

Ann enjoyed traveling the world from Europe to the Caribbean and many areas in the United States. She also loved spending time at her second home in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

She will be remembered as devoted wife, caring mother, loving grandmother, and dedicated teacher.

Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She hosted countless overnights, took them on numerous vacations, taught them to bake while sharing family recipes and attended many school functions to support their growth.

She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 56 years, John McGraw; son John McGraw (Shannon Koley); and daughter Maura Przybylek (Donald); grandchildren Grayson and Tara Przybylek, and Ellen Koley, as well as her sister Marie Foy and brothers Tom, Jim and Mike Torbik.
