COLONIE – Ann Marie Dott (Mommy Dott), 92, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Gertrude Smith.

She is the devoted mother of Linda Dott (late John Miller), John (Tracie) Dott, Donna (Den) Choiniere, Art Dott, Karen Dott (late Mike McCall), Jim (Pattie) Dott, Bryan (Judy) Dott, Michele (John) Tremblay and Mary Lynn (Bill) Lasch. She is the sister of Brother Alfred J. Smith C.M., John “Red” (Carole) Smith and Mary Lou (late Ron) Brown. After raising nine children, Ann went back to school and graduated from HVCC and Siena College with an accounting degree. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and Christ Our Light Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Mommy Dott’s life revolved around her cherished family. She loved Sunday dinners with family, swimming with her grandchildren and celebrating each and everyone’s birthday. Mommy Dott made everyone feel special and loved.  She taught her family the importance of kindness, generosity, and love. Ann always told everyone “you’re wonderful!” but She was the most wonderful.
