TROY – Tricia M. Koberger, 69, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 10, 1956, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Patricia and Earl "Gus" Gavigan.

Tricia was a lifelong resident of Troy and dedicated her entire career to the Troy City School District as a special education teacher. She had a remarkable gift for working with children with special needs, championing their strengths and celebrating their unique abilities. Her impact on countless students' lives continued long after her retirement.

She was a devoted mother who treasured family above all else. Tricia had a passion for travel, particularly to Disney destinations, and was known for her generosity in sharing these experiences with loved ones.

Tricia is remembered by her three children, Gregory, Katie and her partner Ricky, and Michael Koberger; her five siblings, Peg, Frank, Marygerard, Chris, and Tom Gavigan; and eleven nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on her birthday, March 10, 2026. Those wishing to honor Tricia’s memory may consider a donation to The Fresh Air Fund or another organization expanding opportunities for children in need in the Troy area.
