Siddiq Yasin Clegg, 43, of Schenectady, New York, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Born on July 25, 1983, in Newburgh, New York, he was the beloved son of Angela Clegg and Delonice Wilkins.
Although his journey took him to Albany for a time, Schenectady was the place Siddiq called home. It was where he built lasting friendships, created countless memories, and established his roots within the community.
After high school Siddiq went on to dedicate nearly 20 years of service to the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (Capital District DDSO).
When life afforded him the opportunity for downtime, you could find him spending time with family and friends, fishing, grilling, listening to music, watching sports or shopping for new sneakers and a hat to match. But above all, Siddiq was a devoted father. His seven children were his pride and joy, and being their dad was one of the greatest parts of who he was. Playful, protective, funny, and deeply involved in their lives, Siddiq embraced fatherhood with love, laughter, and an unmistakable sense of joy. Whether he was joking around, sharing special moments, or simply spending time with them, he had a way of making his children feel loved and connected. Although their time with him was cut far too short, a bond between a father and his children is one that even death cannot break.
His greatest legacy will not be measured in years, but by the seven lives that will forever carry a part of him, whether in their smiles, their laughter, their personalities, and the memories they will carry throughout their lives.
Beyond fatherhood, Siddiq was a beloved son, grandson, brother, partner, uncle, and friend. Known for his infectious laughter, undeniable charm, and larger than life personality, Siddiq had a way of lighting up any room he entered. His charisma, humor, and ability to bring joy to those around him left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will forever be remembered for the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
Siddiq leaves behind his seven children, Anyah Clegg, Nevaeh Clegg, Cam’ryn Clegg, Siddiq Clegg Jr., Delonice Clegg, Royce Clegg, and Renae Clegg and a bonus son, Isaiah Isaac; his parents, Angela Clegg and Delonice Wilkins; his grandmother, Bobbie Clegg, his three sisters, Danielle Wilkins, Jaleesa Wilkins, and Jasmine Wilkins; his nephew, Alias Rodriguez; and his loving partner, Charlena Isaac. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, childfriends, and loved ones who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Saturday October 31, 2026 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie from 11 am to 12 pm with a Celebration of Life at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent directly to his children at $LongliveSiddiq on cashapp.
