Ruth Anne Looman (Albright) went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 93 on July 28, 2025. Ruth was born on October 12, 1931 in Albany, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Louise Albright. Ruth, her brother Robert (Bobby) and sisters Bertha and Carol had a wonderful childhood growing up in Ravena NY. She graduated from Ravena Coeyman’s High School in 1949, and then attended Cobleskill College (NY), graduating in 1951, with a degree in Nursery Education. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Looman in 1953. Bill and Ruth enjoyed a Christ-centered marriage for over 50 years, until Bill went home to glory in 2004. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Lois, Debi and Lisa. Ruth lived most of her married life in Latham, NY, working as a Nursery School Director and Teacher for 31 years at the Resurrection Lutheran Church and Saint Matthew’s Church in Latham. She was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Above everything, Ruth loved the Lord and the Word of God. Prior to entering His presence, her greatest joys in life were her family, friends and close neighbors. She enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach and vacations with family and friends in Maine. She greatly enjoyed music and dancing, and it was pure poetry to see Bill and Ruth together on the dance floor. The grace she demonstrated in any situation was always a calming influence, and her gentle and caring personality will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Lois DeLuca (Dave), Debi Pettograsso (Gerry), and Lisa Muztafago (Michael), 9 grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Rick and Kaitlyn (DeLuca), Jamie, Bailee and Jenna (Pettograsso), Mike Jr. and Stewart (Muztafago),15 great grandchildren, and her sisters Carol Schimmel (Ralph), Bertha Williams and sister-in-law Annie Albright. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Ruth’s long time companion Larry Watkins for his care, love, friendship and for always being there. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Bill, her brother Robert (Bobby) Albright and brother-in-law Byron Williams.
