Ruth M. Lawton

COLONIE – Ruth M. Lawton, 83, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 02, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie Warner. Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Donald J. Lawton, Sr., her sister Patricia (William) Flint of Loudonville; her children Tammy (Gene) Hilstro of Rensselaer, Pamela (Bryan) Danz of Colonie, Donald (Sharon) Lawton Jr. of Rensselaer and Sandra (Jeffrey) Burgess of Ballston Spa; thirteen grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. She was known for her “excessive” decorating for every holiday or special occasion. Ruth enjoyed the simple things like sitting in the warmth of the sun, backyard family picnics and watching her favorite TV shows.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. Visitation will be prior to the Mass from 10 to 11 at the Church.
