Rosemary Keane

November 21, 1936 — July 16, 2025

Albany, New York

Albany – Rosemary Keane, 88 of Albany. We are heartbroken to announce that our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother went to be with the Lord on July 16 after a short stay at St. Peter’s Hospital. Rosemary was born on November 21, 1936 in Albany, NY. She was predeceased by her husband John T. Keane, parents Helen Comer (Moran) and Michael Comer, sisters Joan Walker (Dan), Nancy Testa (Pat), Alice Comer, brother-in-law Thomas Keane (Judy survives), sister-in-law Eileen Keane and her Grandson Kyle Friss.

She was born in Albany, NY. She was a graduate of Vincentian High School and went on to work for the New York Telephone Company for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers Club.

Beloved Mother of Kathleen Cramer, Debra Friss (Scott), Michael Keane, Tina Barr (Tim) and Amy Carmello (John). Cherished Grandmother of Cameron, Jennifer, Connor, Corey (Lauren), Kaylee (Andrew), Justin, Braeden (Nicole), Timothy, Ryan (Emily), Zachary, Paige and Great Grandmother to Drew and Ava. Special thanks to Jim Cramer who will always be family. Our Mom loved him dearly and appreciated all he did for her. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Rosemary’s family meant everything. There was nothing more she enjoyed than spending time with them. You could always count on her presence cheering her kids and grandchildren on at their many events. She raised us with unconditional love and took pride in making every holiday a special day for her children to remember. She created lifetime memories. She was a selfless person, always putting her family’s needs above her own.

Rosemary started bringing her children to Wildwood, NJ in the 1980’s, a yearly tradition that continues three generations later. The treasured memories we have made will last a lifetime.

Rosemary kept in touch with her many friends and looked forward to their lunches and reunions. You could always find her nose in a good book and she passed on the love of reading to her children. She enjoyed music and attended several concerts—her favorites being Engelbert Humperdinck and Celtic Thunder. She enjoyed drawing and was a very artistic person.

Rosemary would allow each of her grandchildren to pick the Halloween costume of their choice. She would spend countless hours making them, adding great detail. We have so many pictures and memories of her spectacular creations. Once Rosemary retired, she took on the role of babysitter. She spent years making sure her grandchildren were loved and well cared for. She brought so much fun into their lives. Rosemary had a great zest for life and fought hard until the very end to maintain her independence and strength. She still loved going for car rides which always ended in a trip for ice-cream. Instead of good-bye, Mom would always respond to our I love yous with I love you more.

We would like to thank St. Peter’s Hospital and their staff for all the compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hyperacusis Research hyperacusisresearch.org/how-to-help/

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rosemary’s family on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 at Christ the King Church, Westmere. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

We love you more Mom!
