Colonie - Ronald P. Kolber, 84, husband of Kirsten Kolber, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born March 10, 1942, in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose Kolber. Mr. Kolber graduated from Colonie Central High School. He served in the U.S. National Guard from 1958 to 1968. He was a Past Chief and Life Member of Fuller Road Fire Department. He held several line and civil offices to include, Chief, Captain, Senior Lt., 2nd Lt., Chairman of the Board of Directors and served on Board of Directors for many years. He was a member of several organizations including, NYS Assoc. of Fire Chiefs, Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Assoc., Hudson Mohawk Volunteer Firefighter Assoc., and Albany County Volunteer Firemens Assoc.
He enjoyed Tuesday morning breakfast with Billy and Sunday breakfast with the guys. He was a union carpenter and worked for Rosch Bros for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Kirsten, son Ronald and his wife Lisa, daughter Nancy; 4 grandchildren, Carla, Jacob, Patrick, and Veronica and 2 great-grandchildren, Lewis and Rose. He was predeceased by his father Charles, mother Rose and brother David.
Friends and Family are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. His life will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to Fuller Road Fire Department, 1342 Central Avenue, Albany, NY, 12205.
