Robert A. Gardy Sr.

Robert A. Gardy Sr., 93, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born in North Albany, NY, on March 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances (Yanni).

In 1950 Bob graduated from VI, he then served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Bob retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years and then went on to work at the Town of Colonie Golf Course for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and was very proud of his six hole in ones. 

Bob was the beloved husband for 70 years to his wife Alice M. Gardy. He was the devoted father to Robert Jr., James (Jannae) and Thomas (Lori), and his six grandchildren, Daniel, Megan, Kayla, Nicole, Amanda and Evan. 

He was predeceased by his brothers Samuel and Arthur. He is survived by his sisters Jane Barcomb and Pat Porcaro, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Gardy and his brothers John (Elaine) and William. 

Friends and family are invited to attend Visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 10 - 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to begin at 12pm, at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Burial to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
