Rick E. Dunn Jr.

Colonie – Richard E. Dunn, 65, of Colonie passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Affectionately known as “Rick,” he was born on February 25, 1960, to the late Richard Sr. and Joanne Dunn in Guilderland. He was a 1978 graduate of South Colonie Central High School and attended college at SUNY Albany.

Rick most recently worked for Ayco Company in Albany as a Benefits Consultant.

He met the love of his life LeeAnn in 1996, and they married in 1998 enjoying 27 happy years together.

He had a great love for music and spent his free time as a DJ. He also loved golf, the ocean, gardening, cars, swimming and took great pride in taking care of his lawn. Some of his other favorite things were listening to music, beer brewing and tasting, spending time with his family and his dogs Autumn and Marina.

Rick was a social member of the Fuller Road Firehouse in Colonie and also part of the Mill Road Golf League.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Cathi Durr and his father-in-law Edward Rhynders.

Rick is survived by his wife LeeAnn, his son Ryan, his mother-in-law Phyllis Rhynders, his brothers in law; Edward Rhynders, Jim Sheehan and Wayne Durr, sisters in law; Joanne Rhynders and Kelli Sheehan, his nieces; Nicole Rhynders, and Kayla (Nick) Maniacek, and his nephew Bryce Durr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 10am to 12 pm with a Prayer Service offered at noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
