Listen to Obituary

Colonie - Patricia E. Harr, 86, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2025 at home. She was born October 2, 1939 and was the beloved daughter of the late Geraldine Sprung and William Alberts. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cherri Lynne Barker Campito.

She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1959. Pat worked for the NYS Labor Dept bldg.9 for thirty years and campaigned and was elected Secretary of the CSEA, where she also organized and ran many bus trips for the members. She established the first CSEA Women’s Softball League.

Pat was a larger than life personality and was the life of the party anywhere she went. She loved to talk to people and share her life experiences, but most of all she loved to have fun and had a contagious laugh. She carried a disposable camera everywhere she went and would pull it out to document her memories. She was strong willed and lived by no man’s rule. There was no stopping her, her can do attitude and belief to never quit was her strength.

She was an avid landscaper and gardener. Pat spent time on Sacandaga Lake since she was a young girl, loved traveling with friends & family and camping with her grandchildren. She loved to stay active and took her bicycle everywhere. Pat was a sports fanatic who knew every baseball and football team and all the players and stats. She was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. Pat enjoyed the Saratoga Horse Race Track and held season tickets. She enjoyed her Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune and if you called during those times you were told not to ever call during her shows. She loved to play volleyball at the many family picnics where she would even bring and setup her volleyball net. Pat was huge on sending and receiving greeting cards and loved to decorate her home and yard for every holiday. She loved to dress nice and had to have her lipstick on. She was a hoot and was a wonderful, colorful character.

Her family and friends were the utmost important thing to her and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; taking them on vacations and teaching them all summer and winter activities. Pat loved to learn and explore and wanted to see everything. She was a lot of fun and loved to celebrate especially St. Patty’s Day, but hated Friday the 13th and wouldn't even answer the phone. She loved to cook for get togethers & holidays. Pat made the best eggplant parmigiana, meatballs, potato salad, and zucchini bread. She was a member of Lisha Kill Reformed Church.

Pat will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was truly one of a kind. There will never be another Patricia E. Harr and she will live on forever in our hearts.

She is the devoted mother of Jackuelyne Patricia Barker and John Francis Harr.

She is Grammy Pat to Nichole, Cortney, Jaime Lynne, Justin Patrick, Zackery, Kameren, Mikaeli, and Phoenix. 2 Great grandchildren: Aubri and Skyelynne.
