Nancy "Mimi" Lynne Rowland

Nancy Lynne Rowland, lovingly known to everyone as Mimi, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 7, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on May 1, 1954, in Albany NY, she was the daughter of the late Ruth and Donald Wilkins, and was raised by her adoptive father Lorin Scott, after Donald's tragic passing. Nancy was born, raised, and lived in NY her entire life. She worked at Aetna Insurance for fifteen years before leaving to pursue what she considered the greatest job on Earth, raising her two children. Over the years, she not only raised her own children, but also cared for countless others who came to know her as their second mom. She touched the lives of so many who will always remember her and all that she did for them.

She loved gardening and appreciated the simple things in life, like going out to grab a coffee. Most of all, though, nothing meant more to her than spending time with her five grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Chelsea Ratcliff (Jim); her son, Evan Rowland (Cailie); her grandchildren, Dylan, Tristyn, Tegan, Eres, and Airo; her siblings, Sharon, Sally, and David; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a Time of Remembrance Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie, NY.
