Melissa "Millie" Shumway

COLONIE-Melissa “Millie” Shumway, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing.

She was born in Hudson Falls, and was the daughter of the late Ruppert and Melissa LaPointe. Millie had been an associate with Unifrst Company for several years. She enjoyed boating, fishing and loved her dogs.

Millie is the mother of Kathy Shumway and John Shumway. She is the grandmother of Clint Shumway and Jason Cassidy. Millie is also survived by five great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 am at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. To leave a message of condolence for the family, visit www. CannonFuneral.com
