Mary Joyce Daley

COLONIE – Mary Joyce (McLean) Daley passed peacefully away on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospice.  She was born January 8, 1936 in Albany, NY.  Joyce graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1954 followed by Cazenovia College.

Joyce worked for many years as the Parish Secretary at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie.  Previous to that, she was employed by New York State.  Joyce married Richard Daley on August 24, 1968 and they shared 52 years together.   She found much joy with her many friends and neighbors the “Nicolette’s” and the alumni of VI class of 1954.

Joyce is survived by Richard and her children Carol Daley of Albany, Dennis Daley of Albany, and her stepchildren Barbara (Al) Bonificio of South Glens Falls, Michael (Sharon) Daley of Saratoga, and Theresa (Rich) Duval of Latham.  Joyce was blessed with eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren that she adored.  She is the grandmother of Joseph, Cameron, Justin, Maria, Tim, Bill, Andrea, Paul, Brian, Elizabeth and Amy. Joyce is the great grandmother of Aaron, Hannah, Benjamin, Lillian, Koal, Hiro, Kiko, Livia, Charlotte, Theodore, Hazel and Hudson. She is the sister of Carol (Paul) Mathieu and the cousin of John (Moira) O’Connor who will miss her dearly. Joyce was predeceased by her parents and a stepbrother and sister.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive Loudonville. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church, prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
