Mark J. Moran

COLONIE – Mark “Buggsy” J. T. Moran, 67, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late Joseph and Eileen Moran.

Buggsy is survived by his devoted partner of 40 years Debbi Moser. He is also survived by siblings John (Debbie) Moran, Kathleen Behm (Barry Coughlin) Kellie (Joe) Zappone. Mark was a loving uncle to Jaclyn Moran, Joey and Cody Zappone, Kaylee (Max) Weaver, and Leah Behm as well as several great nephews and a great niece. Mark was predeceased by his nephew Christopher Moran. Mark cared deeply for his family and friends to whom he was loving and devoted. He made friends wherever he went in life. Buggsy was a true, loyal friend to many with friendships lasting 50+ years. He was truly one in a million. He is truly loved by so many and will be missed by all.

Mark’s love of music was lifelong. He loved spending time making music. He was a self-taught musician who couldn’t read music but he could make music. He was in the process of putting together a band. He loved going to concerts and recently saw Metallica, Sammy Hagar, Pantera to name a few and had upcoming plans to see Rush in concert.

Funeral services will be on Saturday morning at 11:00 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mark’s family on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
