COLONIE – Marilyn “Mimi” J. Furbeck, 67, of Colonie passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her residence. She is now at peace with the love of her life Johnny Quinn who passed in 2010.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Marilyn Cannon. Mimi is the devoted mother of Monica (Joseph) Costello, David (Katelyn) Furbeck and Heath (Aley) Furbeck. She is the loving Nana Mimi to Mason, Paisley, Hunter, Winter, Frankie, Rowan and Hudson. Mimi is the dear sister of Barbara Collen (Chuck), John (Kim) Collen, Patricia (Ken) Miller, Twiggy Collen and the late Deborah Collen. She is also survived by her cousin Suzan, her lifetime friend Joni and several nieces and nephews.
Mimi’s love for God never wavered. Mimi loved treasure hunting and sharing her gifts to make others feel important. She cherished traveling the world with Johnny and time with her beautiful grandchildren. Her frequent, random I love you texts meant so much. Mimi enjoyed listening to music and being creative. She delighted as a co-conspirator with her grandbabies when parents said no. Mimi was a warrior for those she loved. A multifaceted diamond, you get a different sparkle depending on how you looked at her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mimi’s family on Wednesday, May 28th from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie.
