Marian L. Glasser

SCHENECTADY - Marian L. Glasser, 91, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Glendale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late James Kelty and Olive Lovejoy. Marian was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Glasser. She was a devoted mother to her 3 daughters, Sharon Gorr, Paula Zellar and the late Susan Lasher as well as her eldest granddaughter, Danielle Baker, whom she raised. Grandchildren include Caitlin & Ashley Gorr, Chelsea Zellar, Carly Stevens, Christopher Cipollo and Tyler Lasher, along with Todd Bennett, who she loved as one of her own. Marian had 9 great grandchildren and shared an especially close relationship with Danielle & Todd’s children, Julia, Colin & Tessa HewesBennett. She was also the great-great grandmother of 2.

Marian retired from the NYS Dept of Social Services after a career spanning more than 20 years. She was a woman of great faith who enjoyed going to church, playing bingo, visiting casinos and spending time with friends, family and her cherished Pekingese, Lily. Her loss will be greatly felt by all of those who loved her.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:00 am at St. Luke’s Church, Schenectady. Visitation will follow from 11 am to 12 noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A time for sharing and remembrances will begin at 12:00.
