Glenville - Margaret Mary West (“Nannie,” “Margie,” “Erin”) (Phair), 69, of Glenville, passed away on October 6, 2025 surrounded by family after a short illness.
Born October 14, 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Phyllis M. Phair. She lived in Weymouth, MA for many years and later in the Clifton Park, NY area before settling in Glenville, NY.
Margaret attended Weymouth North High School and then received her Dental Auxiliary Program-Certification from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, her Medical Coding Certificate at Health Information Career Development Institute, and later her AAS in Health Information Technology from Alfred State College. Margaret later worked in various administrative roles, including Medical Records, ending her career at Albany Medical Center.
At a young age, ‘Margie’ to her brother and sister and ‘Erin’ to her friends, was known as being kind, loving and always up for a laugh and a good time. Margaret later went on to have three beautiful children to whom she dedicated her life to and shared an incredible bond. They remember her for her wit, resilience, kindness, love and always putting her family first.
Margaret’s greatest joys were to spend time with her family having long talks and big laughs over meals – especially over a warm breakfast at Lakeside Farms – and sharing a cold ice cream from Stewart’s or Jumping Jacks. She was so proud of her children, their significant others and her grandchildren and grand-dog --- you’d often find her boasting about them all. Margaret’s hobbies included being a truly gifted seamstress -- crafting and sewing the most beautiful creations, being part of the True Crime Club, laughing endlessly over Schitt’s Creek, and swooning over Robert Pattinson.
Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.
Margaret is survived by sons Andrew Lloyd (Danielle) of Altamont, NY and James Robert (Nicole) of Averill Park, NY and daughter Meghan Elizabeth (Garett) of Altamont, NY; five grandsons Owen and Carter of Altamont and Gavin, Liam and Calum of Averill Park. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen and her husband Kevin of Fort Mill, SC and her brother Tom of Abington, MA and her many nieces, nephews, their significant others and their children. Margaret is predeceased by her sister-in-law, Anne Phair.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to donate to any of the following charities close to Margaret’s heart: Animal Protective Foundation: Animal Services in Schenectady, March of Dimes, St. Jude’s or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
