GUILDERLAND – Lorrain H. Demers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, on her 87th birthday.
She was born in Lake Placid, grew up in Schenectady and resided in Altamont for many years. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Winefred Baker. Lorrain was predeceased by her beloved husband Stephen Demers in 2000. She was an animal enthusiast and advocate. She worked for several years at the Guilderland Animal Hospital. Lorrain enjoyed gardening, decorating, time with her family and supporting many charitable groups.
Lorrain is the sister of Glenn Baker, David (Debbie) Baker, Luella DeVarnne and the late Raymond, Frank, Fred, Francis and Marion Baker. Lorrain is survived by her sons Kevin Demers and Mike Doherty and her grandson Kevin Doherty and family; her niece and caregiver Sara DeVarnne and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Visitation Thursday from 11 to 1 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
