Joseph J. Salerno

Albany – Joseph J. Salerno, 87, of Colonie passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026.

Joe was the former owner of Empyre Pools but most recently worked for Metro Ford where he was a salesman.

His passion was music, he played locally in his band JJ and the Impacts. Joe also loved all his animals, especially his dog Layla. He proudly served in the US Navy in 1957, serving four years for our country.

He is survived by his wife Lynne J. Salerno (Haluska), his niece and nephew Lori and Joseph Bahan who cared for him in the end. He is also survived by his niece Lisa Salerno and nephews; Joseph, Vincent, Jeffrey, Frank and Michael Salerno.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm with a Service at Noon at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Joseph’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
