John Joseph Endres

John “Jack” Joseph Endres, 95, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 12, 2026, at home with his family by his side.

Born September 25, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Scrafford) Endres.

In 1949, Jack graduated from Linton High School and later went on to work at Ehrlich Auto. In 1951, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1954, Jack married the love of his life, Patricia (Christian), and together they built a family and a life rooted in faith and community in the Albany Capital Region.

Throughout his life, Jack held numerous jobs, including working for California Oil Company. He also served as the First Deputy Superintendent of the Colonie Sewer Department, a position he held for approximately 12 years. Later, he dedicated more than 20 years to Pineview Community Church, where he served as superintendent. He took great pride in caring for the church building and, just as importantly, the people who called it home. Known affectionately to many as “Papa Jack,” his unwavering commitment and love can still be felt in the walls of the building and in the memories of those whose lives he touched.

Jack was exceptional at the work he did and was known for his ability to solve problems and get things done. For three years, he served at Pompano Baptist Temple before returning to Pineview Community Church, where he continued his service until his retirement in 2003.

Jack truly earned his reputation as a “Jack of all trades.” He loved gardening, being outdoors, and camping at Alpine Lake, Corinth, and Warrensburg, creating lasting memories with his family along the way. He lived his life with intention, taking pride in his work and always making sure his family was cared for.

A true man of God, Jack dedicated his life to serving and caring for others. If someone needed help, he was there; ready to lend a hand, fix something, or simply take the time to be present. He always seemed to have a project on his mind, but he never let a project become more important than the people he loved. Jack’s greatest legacy is not only in the work he accomplished, but in the countless ways he cared for his family, his church, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jack will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Patricia “Hon”, their three children, Kathleen (Dave), John, and William (Donna); three grandchildren Michael (Heather) Kingsbury, Kelly (Joseph) Salvione, Melissa (Christopher) Brown; He is also survived by his six grandchildren Nicholas, Alyssa, Anthony, Mark, Alyvia and Jayden; and his siblings Bruce (Linda) Endries and Amy (Richard) White.
