Jesse Zwack
January 7, 1947 — April 6, 2025
Beloved Dad, Pop-Pop, and Lifelong Adventurer
Jesse Zwack, 78, of Delmar—a devoted dad, proud Pop-Pop, and cherished friend to many—passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. His hands told the story of a lifetime of hard work and dedication, shaped by 32 years as a painter at Freihofer’s. Jesse was a true fighter—in and out of the ring. From earning the Golden Gloves in boxing to bravely battling cancer, he faced every challenge with unwavering strength and determination.
Jesse was a man who truly lived. Whether he was setting out on an adventure, sharing a laugh, or offering a helping hand, he brought energy and light to every room he entered. His love for life was contagious, and those lucky enough to know him will never forget the way he made ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Jesse was the proud dad of Crystal DiTonno (Phil DiTonno) and Amber Therkildsen, who carry forward his spirit and strength. He was "Pop-Pop" to three grandchildren—Savannah, Mariah, and Landon—who lit up his world and will forever cherish the memories made with him. A special thanks to his girlfriend (Margaret Kamna), sister (Esther Vitetta) and countless family and friends who showed their love to Jesse during his journey.
Jesse had a true passion for dancing, especially showing off his perfected two-step and signature spin move. He was always up for an adventure—whether it was flying a plane, driving his boat & fishing, hang gliding 4,000 feet high, testing his luck at the casino, riding an ATV through the mud, parasailing, jet skiing, whitewater rafting, going on hikes or walking his best dog pal Bella. Just this past October, he completed a 10-mile hike at Pharaoh Lake! Above all, he cherished attending every event his grandkids were a part of.
Jesse’s legacy will live on in every heart he touched along the way. He is now reunited with his late wife, Catherine Zwack, where we are sure they are dancing the night away. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
