Jean M. Muia

Albany - Jean M. Muia, 96, of Albany, passed away on Monday August 11, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Augustine and Mary Barranca.

She was the wife of the late James Muia. Jean was the beloved mother of James (Luisa) Muia and the late Peter Muia, Mary Muia Kehrer (Peter Kehrer survives) and Theresa A. Muia.

She had several grandchildren; Jeanie (Dominic) Figliomeni, James (Amber) Muia, Michael Muia, Mariesa (Mike) Capaldi, and the late Michael Kehrer; Great-grandchildren, Domenico, Cristiano, Giana and Anthony.

Jean loved to cook and share her recipes and time with her grandchildren. She never took life for granted and always put her family ahead of herself. She made her family the priority always and for that she will always be remembered and missed. Although cooking was her best attribute, her favorite past time was when she could slip away to the slot machines at Saratoga casino. It gave her such joy and relaxation and was a pleasure to watch her light up. The world will never be the same and our hearts mourn the loss of such an amazing soul. May God take her into his arms and reunite her with her family.
