Georgann M. Mullarkey, 82, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Peter's Community Hospice Inn, with her family by her side.
Born on October 24, 1943, in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Polivka) Monegan.
Georgann was the devoted mother of Christopher (Missie) Mullarkey of Amawalk, Thomas Mullarkey of Guilderland, and Erin Schepisi of Colonie. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Eilish (Robert) Folchetti, Rory Mullarkey, Anthony (Heather) Schepisi Jr., and Emma Schepisi; her beloved great-grandson, Kevin Schepisi; her brother, Thomas (Joyce) Monegan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, longtime friends, and the extended Mullarkey family.
In addition to her parents, Georgann was predeceased by her sister, Linda Baktis; her brother-in-law, Alex Baktis; and her nephew, Alexander Baktis.
Georgann moved to the Albany area to raise her family. She worked for several electrical contracting companies before making her career at Wolberg Electric, where she remained for many years until her retirement in 2013. She enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, and, above all, spending time with her family and friends.
As Georgann's health challenges increased, her daughter Erin became her devoted caregiver, working alongside the compassionate staff at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where Georgann had resided since 2023. Though she occasionally kept the staff on their toes, she also brought them countless moments of laughter and entertainment.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and to the caring team at St. Peter's Community Hospice Inn for the compassion, comfort, and support they provided to both Georgann and her loved ones. Knowing she was finally at peace brought great comfort to her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the West Albany Fire Department, 113 Sand Creek Road, Albany, New York. The family looks forward to sharing stories, laughter, and memories in honor of a woman whose love touched so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Peter's Community Hospice Inn, 310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208.
Georgann will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
