Colonie - Frank V. Marchesini, 94, of Colonie, passed away on October 23, 2026, at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Born on March 5, 1932 in Albany. Frank was the son of the late Luigi and Virginia (Sartori) Marchesini. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (Mantia) Marchesini for 65 years. Frank was raised in Albany and graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict as an Ordnanceman. After his discharge, he graduated from HVCC with a degree in Electrical Technology. He worked for GE Medical Systems for over 25 years installing and servicing radiology equipment in most of the hospitals in the region.
Frank had many interests in life, including bike riding, cooking, listening to jazz and using his talents to build clocks, wind chimes and other pieces of art out of materials he accumulated. Frank also had a passion for serving the community. He was a life member of the West Albany Fire Department #2, volunteering at the Police Athletic League repairing toys, sorting food at the Regional Food Bank and was an active member of the former Our Lady of Mercy and Christ our Light Parishes in Colonie. Frank would help his neighbors with repairs and odd jobs and was always the first to put on an apron to cook at picnics and functions. Frank also participated in an Honor Flight to our nation's capital in 2017. After that trip, he proudly wore his U.S. Navy hat until the end. Lastly, he adored his family. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Fran); and his three children, Frank Marchesini (Debbie), Annemarie Waters (Gary), and Vincent Marchesini; grandchildren, Matthew Marchesini, Amanda Marchesini and Dominic Waters who followed in his footsteps graduating from CBA in 2025. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 30, 2026 at a time to be announced at Christ our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
