OLD FORGE — Donald M. Ogborn, (Suds) 76, formerly of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 11th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Donald J. Ogborn Sr. and Susie Scaligeri Ogborn.
Donald worked as an insulator with Local 40 Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers in Albany and served as a former officer. He was also a talented carpenter who took great pride in his craftsmanship. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a life member of the Albany County Fish & Game Club and was a former officer. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also an avid Mets fan. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Lynn Ogborn. Don was the devoted father of Kelly (Jason) Marx, Domonick (Vikki)Ogborn, and Kimberly (Anthony) Mastrianni. He was the cherished “Poppy” of Shelby (Nick) Bateman, Aubrie (Haylee) Ensminger, Michael Ogborn, Anthony and Vincent Mastrianni. He was also the proud great-grandfather (Poppy with the deers) of Shayne and Nolan Bateman and Maverick Ensminger.
Don was the brother of Judy Ogborn and the late Bobby and Rick Ogborn. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his family, Don leaves behind special neighbors and dear friends that became family in Old Forge, including Jr. Murphy, Lisa, and Jerry Raneri whose friendship meant so much to him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of MVHS Medical Group – Town of Webb for their compassionate care, support, and kindness throughout Don’s illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Don’s family on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie.
