Cynthia Malloy, affectionately known by everyone as “Emo” and regarded as a mother to all, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the young age of 75.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in Brookdale Hospital Center on February 28, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Thelma Brown and Ashley Carter. Cynthia was second oldest girl to five children.
Cynthia was a wise, nurturing and creative woman with many talents and a passion for the Most High. Cynthia was a Master Seamstress, and a Home Health Aide. She had a profound passion and love for Christ and would openly share the word whenever the opportunity presented itself. This love and gift landed her at Word of Life Ministries, a faith-based program where she was a Program Manager. Cynthia profoundly influenced and made a significant impact on the people she encountered throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia was predeceased by her sister Gwen, niece Sharon, nephews Shawn and Aaron; her son Tracey Lee, husbands Franklin and Charvis, companion Moshe, and granddaughter De’nee.
Cynthia’s love, life and memories are now lived through her brothers Alvin and his sons Jamel and Brandon, Ovadia and his daughters Keymani and Niesha, sister Vivian and her son Thyon, children; Linda (Yafah) Rose, and her children Shetla, Eli, Yic, Late Denee and Cyeisha; son James (Kess) Charvis and children Ieckimyah, Jovanna, Andre, Andrea, Kanzada and Tavis; The late Tracy (Cocham) Lee Charvis, and children, Shaquana and Kree; Daughter, Ivery (Na-Na) Williams, and children Isaiah, Tyleec Charvis, Charles, Charlise and Mielle; and Son, Moesha Charvis children: Lamour, Tyeisha, Moshea, Jada, Channel, Ahmaree; Daughter Latiza (Kimmy) Charvis, children: Latisha, Kaizir (Aka Myni), Treliek, Amere , Bonus child Judy Jackson and her children Tamara and Aden, 44 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4pm – 6pm, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 6pm, at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Albany NY 12205.
