Constance “Connie” Strazzi, lovingly known as “Moma,” age 86, of Schenectady, New York, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2026, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 3, 1939, in North Elba, Lake Placid, New York, Connie was the daughter of the late Arlington and Theresa Myatt. She attended Duanesburg High School, graduating in 1958. She later attended The College of Saint Rose, where she studied nursing and earned her LPN.
Connie began her working life as a telephone operator before pursuing her calling in healthcare. She went on to work as a nurse at Community Health Plan (CHP) on Route 7 for 15 years, dedicating herself to caring for others until her retirement in 2002. Caring for people was not just her profession, it was who she was at heart.
Family meant everything to Connie. She was the person everyone could count on, the one who listened, helped, comforted, and made sure those around her were cared for. She found her greatest joy in being a homemaker and raising her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Connie enjoyed simple pleasures such as ceramics, shopping, and cooking for the people she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and good food. She also adored the family dog, the late “Cookie,” who brought her great companionship over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents and by Robert Strazzi, to whom she was married for 25 years.
Connie leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her every day: her brother, Gary Myatt; her sons, Rocky (Gina) Strazzi and Steven (Becky) Strazzi; and her beloved grandchildren, Eric and Mitchell Strazzi, who lovingly called her “Moma.” She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph Strazzi; and her nieces, Carrie Myatt, Maria Strazzi, and Jill Strazzi; and nephews, Jeffrey Myatt and Michael (Cris) Strazzi.
Connie’s kindness, strength, and devotion to her family will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with Connie’s wishes, services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
