Barbara Spinelli

Barbara A. Spinelli, 79, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, surrounded by her family at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born on October 7, 1946, in Port Chester, New York, Barbara was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Pequinot and Margaret M. (Callahan) Pequinot. She was a graduate of Colonie Central High School, Class of 1964.

Barbara spent many years working at Macy’s in Colonie, where she was a familiar and friendly presence for two decades. She later worked at The Bone & Joint Center in Albany for ten years.

She met her husband, Leonardo, in high school. The two were high school sweethearts and were married on May 6, 1967, sharing a lifetime together built on love and family.

Barbara enjoyed traveling, decorating her home, and spending time with friends in her dart league at IBS Hall in West Albany. She also enjoyed shopping and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren. Above all, she valued time spent with her family and cherished her relationships with her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas J. (Joline) Pequinot, and her nephew, Nicholas J. Criscone.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leonardo "Leo" Spinelli; her sons, Robert J. (Lee) Spinelli and Daniel P. (Kristina) Spinelli; and her five grandchildren, Julia, Angelina, Robert, Mason, and Lana Spinelli. She is also survived by her brother, John (Predeceased by his wife, Carla) Pequinot; her sister, Mary Criscone (Henry); her sisters-in-law, Kate, Jeanne Spinelli, and Loretta (John) Mellen; her brothers-in-law, Arcangelo, Bernard, and Rocco Spinelli; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00pm.
