Niskayuna – On Monday, October 6, 2025, Arno L. Reihs, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Arno was born in Osnabruck, Germany to the late Heinrich and Gertrude (Duffner) Reihs on December 12, 1939. He immigrated to the United States in 1951. Arno was a proud graduate of Troy High School.
He was a long-time business owner of the Mohawk Army Navy stores located throughout the Capital Region. He was a lover of soccer, golf, tennis and especially loved gardening. During the cold winter months, Arno was a snowbird, spending his time in Vero Beach Florida.
He is predeceased by his first wife Helen Tymeson Reihs, his brother Helmut Reihs and his sister Irmgard Iacabucci. Arno is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Elaine Comeau-Reihs, his children Arno (Karen) Reihs Jr., Christopher (Mary) Reihs, Brett (Kristin) Reihs, and Derik Reihs, his step-children LuAnn Sullivan, and David (Deborah) Comeau, his grandchildren Brendan, Meaghan, Colton, Austin, Peyton, Alexandra, Kyle, Brett Jr., Garrett, Kendall, Helena, Reaghan, and Hudson, his step-grandchildren Ryan, Daniel, and Victoria and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th from 10 am to 11 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie, followed by burial at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
