Arlene L. Olthoff

PALMETTO, FL. - OLTHOFF, Arlene Leona (Haggerty) 87, went home to be with her heavenly father on July 12, 2024.  Arlene was born in Albany, NY and was the daughter of the late Leo Burda and Stella Panek.  Arlene was predeceased by her loving husband, Conrad "Dutch" Olthoff, along with her siblings, Cecelia Zimmer and Leo

Burda (Joanne).

She is survived by her children, Richard P. Haggerty III (Cheryl), Pati Poleto-Still (Blake), Leo Haggerty, Michele Bell (late Robert Bell) and Theresa Blaauboer (Robert). Arlene had 13 grandchildren, 12 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by husband Dutch's children, Ginger Olthoff, Bobby "Dutch" Olthoff (Sue) and Kathi Brownell (Kenny).

She graduated from Cathedral Academy in 1954.  Arlene retired from the Division of Military and Naval Affairs then moved with her husband to Palmetto, FL where they enormously enjoyed their retirement years together. They loved the Piney Point community where they made many friends and had lots of fond memories.

A special thanks to Dr. James Briles for his kind and compassionate care for many years.

Arlene was a strong woman of faith who loved the Lord.  She was a fiercely dedicated mother to all her children.  The family was grateful to be able to keep her in her home while they cared for her.  Although the hole left by her absence is immense, we find comfort in the countless memories we shared with her and the love she bestowed on us. We are truly blessed to have called her "Mom”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Arlene's family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 9-11am at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave in Colonie.  Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
