Albany - On December 25, 2025, Albert Francis Paolucci, 98, of Albany, New York, passed away after a long illness.
Born and raised in Albany, Albert was the son of Thomas and Mary Paolucci (Leone), the fourth of seven children. Albert attended Albany High School and from there went on to proudly serve his country at the end of World War II in the United States Army Air Corp. During his service, he flew 49 missions as a belly gunner in the B17 Flying Fortress as part of the 305th Bomb Group and later flew reconnaissance and mapping missions over Africa and Europe. He was discharged honorably in 1946 after having been awarded the Army of the Occupation Medal and the Victory Medal.
After returning home, Albert met the love of his life, Mimi, to whom he was married for 77 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a tireless worker, building a career around home remodeling and flooring. He had a creative eye which was expressed in his work.
Albert took great pride in his home, which he remodeled continuously. It expanded over the years from a 900-square-foot prefabricated bungalow to a two-story duplex. His landscaping was impeccable, including abundant and intricate vegetable and flower gardens. He was the snappiest of dressers and was known for his style.
Albert also contributed to life in Albany as a public servant. He was the Democratic Party Committee Man for Albany County 12th Ward 8th District for over 30 years. He also served as a Community Liaison in the office of State Assemblyman Jack McEnany. He was President and Chairman of the Board of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society for 10 years and the first Chairman of the Columbus Day and Italian Festival in Albany.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife, Camela (“Mimi” Rappazzo) and his daughter, Elaine Paolucci Seeskin (Barry Seeskin). He was predeceased by his son, Steven A. Paolucci (Paula Paolucci). He was the devoted grandfather of Zachary Seeskin (Lindsey Seeskin), Abigail Seeskin (Rachel Stebing), and Nathaniel Seeskin (Soham Sinha), and cherished great-grandfather of Ariel Seeskin, Ansel Stebing, and Naomi Seeskin. He was the proud uncle and great-uncle of many. The devotion of all of his nieces and nephews—but particularly Rachel Rappazzo, David Rappazzo, and Leona Shelton—is very gratefully acknowledged.
Albert was predeceased by his three older siblings, Joseph Paolucci (Helen Paolucci, also deceased), Palma Guiffre (Joseph Giuffre, also deceased), and John Paolucci (Josie Paolucci), and by his younger sister Lucy Bremm (John Bremm, also deceased) and brother, Thomas Paolucci (Barbara Paolucci, also deceased). He is survived by his youngest sister, Angela Riani (Barry Riani, deceased).
His family would also like to acknowledge the devotion of his medical provider, Miranda Dunham, NP, and her family for their care shown to both Mom and Dad.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 am at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
