John Pendleton Obituary

COLONIE – John L. Pendleton, 73, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Born on June 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Ralph Pendleton and Catherine Barentse.  He is the beloved husband of Irene (Johnston) Pendleton and is the devoted father of Lori (Bill) Donato, John (Jodi) Pendleton and Jennifer (Kevin) George.  John is the brother of Ralph (Jamesene) Pendleton. He is also the loving grandfather to Austin and Alysa Brino, Breya Filkins, Caden and Miley George and Mia Pendleton. He was predeceased by his son Michael Pendleton.

John was the sole owner of Northeastern Sewer Builders, which he started 1972.  With a hard work ethic and dedication, he created a thriving business.  His children remember being woken up late at night as he returned home.  He would take off his work boots, kissed us good night and the phone would ring for him to leave again.

Those who knew John best would say that he was a kind and lighthearted man, who was always willing to help others.  The type of person who never wanted to go anywhere, but once there, never wanted to leave.

He held his family in the highest regard.  As a father, he instilled the same dedication and work ethic into his children.  A strong and proud role model, his children looked up to him and strived to be like him when they grew up.  He demonstrated to his children that anything can be done, no matter what the adversity, as long as you worked hard.  As a grandfather, his love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.  Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than seeing his grandchildren.  He will be forever missed by friends and family and we are all grateful for being touched by his life.
