Berley Vincent Obituary

LOUDONVILLE - Berley A. Vincent, 82, passed away peacefully on November 10th at his home in Loudonville with his family by his side.

Berley was born on September 7th, 1936. He was one of ten children born to the late Harold and Monica (Montague) Vincent in Manlius, NY. He was a PFC of the USMC and served honorably from 1953-1956. He worked for both Coca Cola, then Schaefer Brewing Co. until they closed in 1974. He was a well known local HVAC technician and worked for Herzog & Hopkins Oil, Maincare Oil, Gates and finally Burhmaster Oil Company retiring in 1995.

Berley was an active life member of the West Albany Fire Department #1 since 1982. He was also an active member of the Marine Corp League, VFW Zaloga Post and life member of the Colonie Elks Club amongst various other organizations and affiliations. Berley enjoyed fishing and traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC every fall with his wife Diane to visit friends, fish off the shore, and enjoy a cold beer. He also loved his dogs, Ginger Girl and Noodles who went on every Fire Call with him. In addition to his parents, Berley was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Alan Vincent, Paul Vincent, Gladys Czajkowski, Elaine Zlotnik, James Vincent, Patricia Wigand, and John Vincent. Berley leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Diane (King) Vincent, his children, William (Amy Laird) Vincent, of Latham, James (Donna) Vincent, of Colonie, and Michael (Kelly) Vincent of Halfmoon, and Daughter-in-law Kathleen Vincent of Colonie. He was Grandfather “Popa” to Marla, Michelle, Christopher, Megan, Caitlin, Kerrie and Abbey. Great-grandfather to Hunter, Trent, Olive, Jaxen, Alexa, Scarlet, Prudence, and Soren. Along with several nieces and nephews, Berley is survived by his sisters Haroldeen Van Wormer and Paula (Jerry) Schwab. The family wishes to thank the Community Hospice staff for their wonderful care throughout this difficult time, we are forever grateful for all your support.
