Walter Craft Obituary

Watervliet - Walter D. Craft, 76, of 2nd Avenue, Watervliet passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital following a short stay.

Born on January 2, 1948 in Albany, NY, he was the son of Alton E. and Sylvia L. (Badger) Craft.

Walter was raised in the Feura Bush area and was a 1966 graduate of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Central Schools.

He retired as a bus driver following 23 years of service with Guilderland Central Schools. He then worked for several years as a driver with CDTA.

His past times included tinkering with electronics, fixing cars, cb radios, car shows, and garage sales.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a grandson Walter Craft, Jr., and several brothers.

Survivors include a son Walter Craft of Watervliet; 2 daughters Linda Craft and Jennifer (John Goldberg) Craft both of Albany; a sister Jackie Hilton of Albany; four grandchildren: Jennifer O’Neill, Alexis Craft, William and Kayla Gifford; three great-grandchildren: Isabella and Bailey O’Neill and Archer Taylor.

Calling hours will be held from 12 Noon to 1:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:30pm  Thursday, March 28 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
